Workshop for local craftsmen in Varniai Regional Park

Interreg VI-A Latvia-Lithuania Cross Border Cooperation Programme 2021-2027 project No LL-00126 ” Exploit Your Senses to Discover the Green Secrets of Zemgale and Žemaitija!” started on the 1^st of February 2024.The project will last for two years until 31^st of January 2026. The project aims to develop sustainable and green tourism opportunities on the Latvian-Lithuanian border.  Lithuanian and Latvian partners will invite visitors and local residents to explore and experience the various infrastructure developed for quality leisure time, enjoying nature trails, sensory gardens, experience spaces, and renovated interactive spaces in visitor centres, thoughtfully adapted to different target groups.

The Green Secrets project will include events, activities, promotional campaigns and trips. On the 29^th of June workshop for local craftsmen will take place in Varniai Regional Park. Project partners and craftsmen from Žemaitija region will participate in this event. It will include a lecture by an herbalist, tasting of traditional culinary heritage dishes od Žemaitija region, and a discussion on the initiation, development and marketing of small businesses. Craftsmen will also share their experiences, identify the most difficult moments and challenges they have faced, and present their crafts, products and activities.
